Prostate Cancer Survivor

Charlie Jacobs' Story

As a prostate cancer survivor, I was fortunate to receive a scholarship from the Crocus Foundation, which allowed me to participate in a tailored fitness program.

“I am extremely grateful to the Crocus Foundation, the scholarship that made this possible, and to the dedication and skill of Coach Reagan.”

This invaluable opportunity led me to work with Reagan, who was assigned as my fitness coach. This pairing has been immensely beneficial to my health and overall recovery journey.

The core of the program focuses on exercises specifically relevant to a 75-year-old like myself, particularly extensive stretching and dedicated work on strengthening the muscles needed to maintain balance. Reagan is an exceptional coach; her dedication is clear and she possesses a vast and impressive knowledge of kinesiology, which guides our sessions and ensures maximum benefit from every workout.

For me personally, the program has renewed my appreciation for the profound impact of a consistent workout routine. The physical benefits include a noticeable improvement in my balance, but just as importantly, engaging in a good workout has been a great aid and combating the depression that can sometimes affect cancer survivors, including me.
